 Sam Adkins Riding Bob |
|
Lawrence Eggleston Adkins known always as 'Sam' was the 7th child of Thomas Everett and Sally Eggleston Adkins. He was born in 1932 and grew up just west of Fieldale. He loved his pony Bob. As a child he knew more baseball statistics than almost anyone. He had quite a temper along that time also ...probably because he had 5 older brothers to endure. As he grew up the temper went away and he was truly the friendliest, most gentle guy ever. He was in home construction with his brother Bill and later formed his own company, Adkins Home Builders. He married Marie Doss and had three children: Steve, Pam and Jeff. |
